History

Monterey Bay LovedPet is located at 885 Strawberry Road in north Monterey County. The cross street is San Miguel Canyon Road in the Community of Royal Oaks. The park was originally established in 1960 as Monterey Bay Memorial Pet Cemetery by the late Dr. Donald Caswell, a Monterey Veterinarian. The park was incorporated and the name changed in 1998.

The Park is still situated on the original four acres nestled in the rolling foothills of Monterey County near the small town of Prunedale. The park was designed to utilize the natural country setting and is graced with lush, verdant meadows abundant with native ferns and mature Eucalyptus, Pine and Oak Trees.

The Park is now the final resting place for more than 2,000 beloved pets of many species, from hamsters to horses. Monterey Bay LovedPet is open for visitation every day during business hours. If not conducting a service the Park Administrator will be happy to provide personal tours of this peaceful estate. Appointments are recommended. Park maintenance and security are provided by an on-site resident caretaker family.
